Just for Fun

Posted by Carol's Rhythm 凯若旋 on Saturday, February 28, 2009 in

I read something from Gin Hooi's blog and would like to share this small story with you guys.

A young man goes into a pharmacy and asks the pharmacist:

"Hello, could you give me condom. My girlfriend has invited me for dinner and I think she is expecting something from me!"

The pharmacist gives him the condom; and as the young man is going out, he returns and tells him:

"Give me another condom because my girlfriend's sister is very cute too. She always crosses her legs in a provocative manner when she sees me and I think she expects something from me too."

The pharmacist gives him a second condom;

And as the boy is leaving he turns back and says:

"After all, give me one more condom because my girlfriend's mom is still pretty cute and when she sees me she always makes allusions... and since she invited me for dinner, I think she is expecting something from me!!

During dinner, the young man is sitting with his girlfriend on his left, the sister on his right and the mom facing him.

When the dad gets there, the boy lowers his head and starts praying: "Dear Lord, bless this dinner... thank you for all you give us!!!"

A minute later the boy is still praying: "Thank you Lord for your kindness..."

Ten minutes go on and the boy is still praying, keeping his head down.

The others look at each other surprised and his girlfriend even more than the others. She gets close to the boy and tells him in his ear:

"I didn't know you were so religious!!!"

The boy replies :

"I didn't know your dad was a pharmacist!!!" :-)

Dine In at Island Red Cafe, Krystal Point

Posted by Carol's Rhythm 凯若旋 on Sunday, February 22, 2009 in

I just went to Island Red Cafe in Krystal Point to have dinner with my family. The services rendered by the staff is awful. We ordered for our food upon arrival. We waited for nearly half an hour, but my Chicken Chop has yet to be served. Even my mum has finished her Nissin Noodles, yet my Chicken Chop is no where to be seen. I approached one staff and asked her to check the status of my meal. Later, she informed us that the food has been served. We disagree with that, as we did not even receive the Chicken Chop. Subsequently, I approached another staff who then responded to my request. And, my Chicken Chop is being served minutes later. The first staff that we approached to seems to react to customers' request in a very lame manner. She is not helpful at all.

We also ordered one Fish and Chips with tartar sauce. The tartar sauce is only a spoonful. Later, we requested the staff to refill a bit more of the tartar sauce. We waited for so long and later I carried on with my meal using the black pepper sauce which comes with Chicken Chop. The tartar sauce is being served ten minutes later when my meal is finished. And, we were not being informed that IRC is charging the customers for the extra tartar sauce refilled. I cannot think of any eateries that I went to are charging the customers for refilling sauces. Although the amount is being charged is a meagre RM1.50, but this is not the ethical way of running businesses. Some more, they termed the extra sauce being refilled as "Add Rice" in the receipt.

My dream phone..

Posted by Carol's Rhythm 凯若旋 on Monday, February 16, 2009 in

I've been dreaming of a new hand phone
But it's just too expensive to own
May my dreams come true, one day
And may the dream phone is always mine...

Translated from:

I've been dreaming of a White Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white...

Haha..I must be crazy in translating this. I wanted to own this phone, it's more than a camera. But, it's too expensive. I saw it in Prangin Mall selling at RM1900++. Isn't that very costly? Haiz...

My dream phone

My current phone

Devil: It's OK, go and trade in yours and buy the new phone. It's full of great functions.

Angel: No, Carol. Don't buy. You are in tight budget. Furthermore, you just bought your phone last year. Don't be a spendthrift.

Devil: No worries, you can always pay in installment using your credit cards.

Dear: You'd better save money, don't waste your money.

Conclusion: My dear wins...

Remembering Granny Always...

Posted by Carol's Rhythm 凯若旋 on Sunday, February 08, 2009 in

My beloved granny passed away on 5th February 2009 at 1.40am. I browsed through my photo albums and starting to reminisce all those moments that she spared and shared with us.

Taken on 31/8/2005 in Tiang's Nursing Home when visiting Suree's granny.

Taken on 9/9/05 in Maple Gold after obtaining Carol's first pay cheque.

Taken on 14/9/05 on Granny's 89th Birthday.

Taken on 29/10/2005 on Carol's ACCA convocation in E&O Hotel.

Taken on 14/5/2008 during Mothers' Day dinner in Double Good Restaurant.

Taken on 10/8/2008 in Double Good Restaurant when Aunty Annie's family returned to Penang.

My granny has always been an independent lady. She has been taking care of me since I was young. She was still physically fit in November last year until later she complained of having pains around her shoulders. Mummy took her to Adventist Hospital and had a thorough body check. Doctor diagnosed that she might develop kidney failure as her blood tests results showed the symptoms of that.

In December 2008, she was bedridden. The whole process took about 2++ months before she left us. I'm glad that at least she did not suffer for a long period. Thanks to those who have visited her when she was sick, who had paid her last respects and were there for us during the mourning. We will miss her forever in our hearts. We love you, AH PO. May GRANNY rests in peace....

CNY gathering with CDK girls

Posted by Carol's Rhythm 凯若旋 on Sunday, February 01, 2009 in

We had a gathering in Old Town Cafe, New World Park last Friday with my fellow classmates. It's like a reunion for most of us from Year 2000. We even met with our friends from Year 2001 as well as they were having their reunion too at the same venue.
